Maybe the Big Bang was just an orgasm and all God really needs isn’t your money or prayers, but a nap and a sandwich.

We recorded our friend Schyler’s music last week. Here’s the album for free download.

Mark Somers:

I start the ball rolling

Release caution to the wind

It flies away fluttering it’s wings

I close my eyes and breathe out

Flowing in is my expanding excitement

all beliefs are gone

all structure torn down

my blocks lie before me

for me to build up something new

I just jumped off the cliff

because I know I can fly

I will sail on the wind

relaxed in the travels to my joy

Because I can see it

I will live it

there’s only so many times a man can handle

jackcbuck:

You can only watch so many movies by yourself

go on so many walks alone with your shadow

listen and sing along to your favorite record so many times

read so many books

and,

write so many poems about the hope of love

    Before those so many times

turn into

   you having just about enough

of being lonely

I will mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. “Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” -Martin Luther King Jr

(*note: The first sentence of this quote is not MLK Jr.)

I swim in the dark ocean of mind

The sea fishes for fishermen

lures them  in with shimmering wisdom

forgotten tidbits of wakefulness

melting habituation

scraping back the layers

piercing the dull core

revealing the magic

pen on paper

smeared ink

swirling blackness

spiraling into nothingness

divulging the current to my soul

seeing beyond sight

feeling past emotions

being outside of being

riding the tidal event horizon

painting outside the lines of void

emblazoned reality

distorted vividness of vibrancies

composing melodic colors

beyond the rainbow

the world beneath what lies

carved urgently in our minds

dead on the side of the road

you stare in disbelief

Look on ahead

Is all the advice I have for today

jackcbuck:

Listlessly walking on the edge of his existence

Through narrow cobbled brick-layered avenues

Thronged by the black velvet of infinity

His thoughts crowed and gabbled

The remnants of garbling illegible memories

Dying in a thousand shattering echoes

Out there alone in the broken alleyway streets

No train, automobile, or plane across any which way

can bring him back to the man he ought to be

His eyes were deep-set and long-lashed

Saw by many, crying in those wet painted lanes

Of his forever regrettable eternity

crimson pools

pink foamy streams

surge of rivers seemingly clean

heavy-eyed sand box

drawing closer together

forged vessels of evading

shading our faces from forture

we row against the current

thinning our tears

in the hulls of symbols

All but a few are afraid

those who sighed out

callous course of mind

stand on the deck

peer out to the end of time

they have bridged the pools

into the vast ocean

escaping in dreams

horror at the end of the night

we glimpsed out fate

for we have eyes

but we don’t have eyes

to see beneath what lies

and most of us don’t know

we can fly

Mark Somers:

I was driving along when I saw an egg crack and out scampered 12 cell phones buzzing as they ran. I forgot to get their numbers so I continued on, ran one over and got an angry text message from its mother. “venom rings, rest and come to the heap.” My response, “I hold the scepter!” I forgot the smiley face… so I go away, on away and find a bottle of artificial tears. I purchase it from an old women with no expression and run into the dripping field. I dance under a second star, artificial tear and all. The dead rise and I join with them in their walk. Now the trees start to laugh at the show and I grow angry and then up and up and up past them. I’m taller than the tallest tall, and I sit on the Earth. Then comes a nibble at my side as rockets pierce my skin. The angry people are upset about their lack of sun for their midday lemonade drinks and hammock books and chapel paintings. So small I become, back down to size. I forget I was tall at all. I get back in my car and drive home, open up the fridge, and die… To journey beneath resistance. To glide on gliders wings. To be empty. Receiving rug burns from the fabric of every.

Is this real?.. Or am I dreaming?

But I think we are riding rockets of words and smiles

Propelled through glowing again vision

Flying out into space - feeling our wings

We reach the summit and detonate

Laughing fireworks - budding souls

Now we let go…

We’re falling, letting it take us

Feeling the warmth up above and lighting inside us

As water molecules danced on warm summer nights

They aligned and thread a rainbow through our minds

Now it flows an ocean within us

Spun like one we embrace everyone between us

Our islands are a drop cast out - or drank in

We’re enchanted as we notice we were merely running from the same

We’re mortal woven embroided by heaven

We’re about to blossom

The sun peaks awake and rubs its eyes

Leaves a sign “I’m coming” painted in the sky

Remember the man on the moon was smiling down

Every haze has a rainbow concealed within it

We were being embraced in her arms but refusing to stare

That sun dreams in the heart and we revolve around it

Flowers blooming we keep rising

As a perfume we can hardly keep inside

The prism within casts off its casing

The sunrise star shoots rainbows out of me

These words flow onto the world

And make it real
